NZ Rigging purchases Fostermasts!

After forty years in business ownership of iconic New Zealand sparmakers and riggers, Fostermasts has passed to New Zealand Rigging. Fostermasts are the oldest spar making and rigging business in New Zealand with a long history both locally and internationally. This history combined with the largest locally owned mast and rigging business in New Zealand brings a great combination of skills and experience.

The Managing Director of New Zealand Rigging, Richard Bearda, served his apprenticeship at Fostermasts so it is appropriate that The Directers of New Zealand Rigging are happy to continue the proud tradition of Fostermasts and service the past, present and future customers with the same.

The Fostermasts name will continue with New Zealand Rigging being a brand in its own right with many products familiar to those in the marine industry. Fostermasts are also the proud importers of Profurl furling gear and New Zealand Rigging will continue to support this.

Fostermasts has a library of over 600 rig plans for many of New Zealands' keelboats and trailer sailers, in many cases the only copy in existence!

With the goal of reducing overheads and standardising manufacturing processes, Fostermasts has been merged into New Zealand Riggings' current factory in Northcote, on Aucklands Northshore.

New Zealand Rigging will continue to offer the vast range of mast sections that Fostermasts carried as well as their own vast range. This gives New Zealand the biggest range of mast sections, and associated components. New Zealand Rigging is now your one stop shop for all your mast and rigging requirements.
